Right now our % marketshare of Minecraft is growing very fast with our current strategy while also updating older content with our expanded team so the balance feels somewhat good.

We need the right balance of updates and new content. If I ask the team to focus on classic games for the next 5 months, the server as a whole would be down by about 50% playercount because that's how volatile the Minecraft community is. Without updates to Bed Wars and Skywars, we would have lower playercount, which means the team would need to be smaller and the general updates/new games to the network would slow down dramatically.

Let's talk about Bed Wars: The way Bed Wars was built is so that it's very easy to update, the framework is recent, isn't pre-EULA, is built with scalability in mind, the maps are easy to add because of their simplicity and obviously enough the game is the most popular game we ever had and a small update has a huge impact on playercount and retention.Second, they also made the 1.9 update which forced PVP servers and Most minigame servers to not be able to add new Minecraft content becuase they had to make it compatible with 1.8 or make it non-compatible with 1.8 and lose player count, also they made realms becuase I guess they basically just wanted people to not buy like the 'Dirt' package on server hosts sites for $2.5o monthly and instead pay $8 monthly where now you cant but things like bukkit into your server and all the money goes to Microsoft.ДЄll of these could of easily drove players away from Hypixel. First, they made the EULA which essentially made some gamemodes almost way to different for players and shut down lots of servers. Mojang (Microsoft) have obviously been favoring vanilla Minecraft/Non-1.8 servers ever since November 6th, 2014 (The day Microsoft bought Mojang). Also some are buying consoles and not PCS.Дў. Its like the saying that says out with the old in with the new.but there isn't a lot of new people are just getting older and move on but younger people are into more trending games like (hate to bring it up but) fortnite, personally I like it but thats just me. I think it is dying for multiple reasons:ДЎ. I want to hear you own thought on why it might be losing player count (its clearly losing player account dont try to deny it just look at the numbers it used to hit 60k its now at 19k)
